Rev. Uriel Lorenzo Harshfield went home to the Lord June 9, 2006. He was born October 4, 1920 in Delaware, AR to William B. and Ruby Smith Harshfield. On July 2, 1960 he married Gerry Johnson. He graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1941. After attending OCU as a law student, he passed the bar in 1948. He had a law practice in Cheyenne, OK and Okla. City. He worked in the Okla. State School Land Division for 18 years. Hearing the Call of God at a young age, he was ordained in the Assemblies of God. He pastored at Pentecostal Church of God in El Reno, OK. After becoming a member of World Ministry Fellowship, in 1969 he founded The Church of the New Life, where he pastored 22 years until his retirement. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister L. Leonora Springer and his son, John Mark. He is survived by his wife, of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Wayne Zettlemoyer and La Nell and Michael Shores; grandchildren, Heather and Christian Portwood, Trinity and Chris Bilodeau, Michael and Twyla Shores, David Shores and Rachel and Joseph Ellis; 7 great-grandchildren and many spiritual children. He was a Preacher of Righteousness and a teacher of the Word of God. Services will be held Monday, June 12th, 2:00 at Mercer Adams in Bethany, with interment in Resthaven Cemetery. MERCER-ADAMS
