Maud A. Fleetwood
Maud A. Fleetwood, 90, died Thursday evening at the home of her daughter in Hope. She was born on July 3, 1893 in the Bethany Community north of Abilene, the daughter of Joseph C. and Molly Jamis. On March 28, 1923 she was married to Hugh Fleetwood. Most of their married life was spent farming in Dickinson County. He preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1948. For several years she was employed by the Abilene Steam Laundry. For the past 29 years she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Piper in Hope. She was a member of the Hope Christian Church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Piper, Hope; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Annis of Abilene, Mrs. Cleta Murrison of Junction City, and Mrs. Suzy Haas, Spokane, Mo. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Danner Funeral Home with the Rev. Clarence Stanke officiating. Interment will be in the Abilene Cemetery.
