Marshall Niel "Jack" Adams, 77, Fenton, passed away Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, in Farmington.

Mr. Adams was born Jan. 16, 1927, in Vulcan, the son of Oscar James Adams and wife Marjorie Beth, nee Becknel.

On Feb. 14, 1948, he was united in marriage to Mary Veronica Catlett.

Mr. Adams was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in St. Clair.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Tec 5, entering May 26, 1945, and receiving his honorable discharge Nov. 20, 1946.
Mr. Adams was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2482.

He worked as a truck driver for Sellenriek Grading Company and retired after 37 years of employment.

Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his father and three brothers, Delbert, Willard and Delmar Adams.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Adams, Fenton; his mother, Marjorie "Speck" Adams, Farmington; two sons, Stanley Adams and special friend Doris Bechel, Jefferson City, and Dennis Adams and wife Charleen, Milton, Iowa; two daughters, Mary "Jackie" Richardson and husband Dale, Hillsboro, and Lisa Parker and husband Steve, St. Louis; one brother, Oscar Adams and wife Faye, Overland; one sister, Phyllis Mertell, Farmington; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers- and sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Russell Colonial Funeral in St. Clair with the Rev. Chauncey Clay officiating.
Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.
Memorials to the Adams family are preferred.
