Date of Death: December 12th, 2003

Karen (Lowe) Howard (nee Johnson) passed away on Friday, December 12, 2003 at Edmonton after a two-week battle from injuries sustained in a car crash near Beaverlodge.

Karen is predeceased by her first husband Leonard Lowe, her sister Faye Berryman, her father Jack Johnson and her brother-in-law Arnold Engblom. Karen had a strong love of children and animals throughout her life. Her dogs Bear and Panda were also sadly killed in the car crash. Her recent acquisition of her horse, Charmin, was the fulfillment of a life-long dream.

Karen was born and raised in the Grande Prairie area. Karen, Leonard and their young family lived in Grande Prairie with short periods in Fox Creek and Three Hills until Leonard's untimely passing in 1979 from a rare liver disorder

Married George in 1986.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 18, 2003 at Oliver's Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel, 10005-107 Ave., Grande Prairie. Friday, December 19, 2003. Interment will follow at the Teepee Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers and in respect to Karen's love of children and animals, donations to Peace Area Riding for the Disabled Society (PARDS) at R.R.1, Site 24, Box 2, Grande Prairie, Alta., T8V 2Z8 would be appreciated.
