Shinnston — Courtney Lane Cottrill, 27, of Meadowbrook, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015, as a result of an automobile accident on Sardis Road.
She was born November 6, 1987, in Clarksburg, WV, daughter of Tammie Kay Luchuck Tate and husband Frank of Meadowbrook and the late Lloyd John Cottrill.
Courtney is survived by her mother; four sisters, Nikki Cottrill and companion Jeffrey Sendling, Katie Cottrill all of Meadowbrook, Sue and Bill Hawkins of Clarksburg, Linda and Freddy Sidwell of Nutter Fort; very special nieces and nephews, McKenzie Cottrill, Paris Pearson, Gage Cottrill, Majesty Pearson all of Meadowbrook; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins; the Hamrick family friends; very special friends, Tiffany Davis and family, Kayla Radcliff and family; stepgrandmother, Mary J. Tate, and family of Spelter.
Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, John and Edith Netzer Luchuck; paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Tempest Leggett Cottrill, Sr.; and several aunts and uncles.
Courtney was employed with the Saunders Staffing Agency as a CNA for the West Virginia Veterans Nursing Home. She was a member of the Upper Room Church in Adamston. She loved to ride 4-wheelers, fishing, wrestling and the outdoors.
Family will receive friends at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike Street, Shinnston, on Friday, May 1, 2015, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at noon with Pastor Mike Hamrick officiating.
