Audrey C. Barber, 71, Richmond, Ill., died Monday, Aug.26, 2002, at Midwestern Regional Medical Center, Zion, Ill., following a lengthy illness with lung cancer.
She was born April 26,1931, in Chicago, the daughter of Arthur and Thelma Gibbs Aubert.
She was a 1949 graduate of Richmond High School.
She married Walter "Bud" Barber Oct. 21, 1950, in Richmond.
She worked as head teller and customer service representative at
Richmond Bank (now State Financial) for 48 years, retiring in 1999.
She was a member of the Community Church of Richmond, where she served as treasurer for many years.
She was a Girl Scout leader for several years, served on the Richmond Grade School Board, was a member of the McHenry County Farm Bureau and enjoyed attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting events. She bowled for many years in the Sunday night mixed league and the women's league.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, {Name withheld for privacy}, Barrington, Ill.; a son, {Name withheld for privacy}, Richmond; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Aubert; and a brother, Erwin Aubert.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ehorn-Adams Funeral Home, Richmond. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at Ehorn-Adams Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Walton officiating.
Interment will be in Richmond Cemetery.
The family suggested memorials to the Community Church of Richmond; American Lung Association, 1749 S. Naperville Road, Wheaton, III. 60187; or Cancer Treatment Center of America, Midwestern Regional Medical Center, 2520 Elijah, Zion, Ill, 60099.
