Norman and Dolores Elaine Anderson were married October 25, 1946 in Robbinsdale. Four children were born to the couple. Norman was employed by the Garfield Elevator for many years. He was a past member of the Sons of Norway and a car enthusiast. Spending time with his children and grandchildren was special to him.
Norman died at his home in Alexandria on his 75th birthday. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Harold, Sigurd, Melvin and Theodore; sisters: Ovedia, Laura and another infant sister.
Surviving him are his wife Dolores of Alexandria; sons: Richard N. and wife Joyce Kvilhaug of Garfield; Robin Kvilhaug of Minneapolis; Rallie and wife Kris Kvilhaug of Alexandria; daughter: Renae and husband Bruce Haugen of Alexandria; one brother: Ole Kvilhaug of Westbrook; four sisters: Lizzie Anderson of Glenwood; Myrtle Jackson of Starbuck; Ruth Voerding of Glenwood; Selma Kvilhaug of Alexandria; and eight grandchildren: Ricky, Stacey, Mathew, Jackie, Jenny and Jill Kvilhaug and Missy and Josh Haugen.
Funeral services were held December 13, 1994 from First Lutheran Church in Alexandria with Rev. Keith Lentz and Rev. Merlin Bartelt officiating. Interment was in Kinkead Cemetery with Richard N. Kvilhaug, Robin Kvilhaug, Rallie Kvilhaug, Richard L. Kvilhaug, Bruce Haugen and Stacey Kvilhaug serving as pallbearers. Norman's other grandchildren were named as honorary pallbearers.
