A number of people from this city will go to Beckville, near Cressona, Schuylkill county, today to attend the funeral of William Beck, a brother of Mrs. David Clark of this city. Mr. Beck was well known in this city, where he visited many times and was always a welcome visitor here, having many friends who esteemed him for his kind nature and the jovial way he had of assimilating with all kinds of people. He was a native of Beckville, the town being named after his father, who was a Schuylkill county pioneer. He was 65 years old, and his death was caused by kidney and stomach trouble. The funeral took place this afternoon, with interment in the Cressona cemetery.
