Emma Mae Simpson, 86, of Lake Park, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012. She was born Jan. 26, 1926, in Lowndes County to the late William Perry Luke and Estelle Nash Luke. Ms. Simpson worked in retail sales and was of the Baptist faith.
Along with her parents, Ms. Simpson was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Simpson; her daughter, Penny Clark; and by her son, Wayne Hall.
Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Perry Hall, Lake Park, Ricky and Barbara Hall, McDonough, Ga., James and Christine Benton, Naylor, Keith Tumlin, Lake Park; son-in-law, Jerry Clark, Lake Park; daughter-in-law, Kay Hall, Valdosta; 10 grandchildren, Joey Hall, Josh Clark, Sheree Beatty, David Hall, Carey Hall, Jessica Hall, Nick Hall, Cherish Hall, Addam Benton, Austin Benton; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Christine and Henry Cribbs, Lowndes County, Faye and Ed Arrowwood, Lowndes County, Iris and Luther Stubbs, Lowndes County; one brother, Charles Luke, Lake Park; several other extended family members.
Funeral service will be held Friday, July 6, 2012, at 10 a.m. in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 5 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
