Richard F. "Fudd" Williams, 83, of Grayville, Illinois, died Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Wabash General Hospital in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. He was born April 28, 1931, in Crossville, Illinois, the son of James and Johanna (Schoenman) Williams. He was married to Jessie P. (Aborn) Williams, and she survives.

Richard worked many years in the oilfields of the Illinois Oil Basin, and later at Champion Laboratories. He was a veteran of the United States Army (serving during the Korean War) and he was a member of the First Christian Church in Grayville. Among his interests and pastimes were playing cards, working jigsaw puzzles, food, trains, and especially his family. When in a one-on-one situation, he was quite the conversationalist.

Survivors include his wife, Jessie P. Williams of Grayville; sons Richard (Peggy) Williams of Mt. Carmel, and Jay (Cherry) Williams of Albion, Illinois; sister Virginia (James) Endicott of Carmi, Illinois; grandchildren Stacie Williams, Lori Goble, Sarah Arnone, Ashlie Gaddis, Jason Williams, Elysia Williams; great-grandchildren Kelcie Yager, Amanda May Yager, Dave Goble, Jeffrey Williams, Jackson Williams, Mason Arnone, Peighton Arnone, Morgan Gaddis, Jacob Collard Williams, and Kairi Williams.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother James Williams; and sister Patricia Epler.
