Emma Mary Meisel, 82, St. Thomas, died June 3, 2002, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center. She was born July 6, 1919, in Argyle, a daughter of Frank and Catherine Hoeller Wieberg. She was married July 19, 1938, in St. Thomas, to Victor C. Meisel, who died April 2, 1982.

She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, St. Thomas, St. Ann's Sodality and St. Ann's Sewing Circle. She attended Renneke School in Maries County. She worked at St. Thomas Ball Factory; Oberman Manufacturing and International Shoe Company, Jefferson City; Iberia Manufacturing; Champion Canvas Company, Meta; and Meta Uniform, where she retired from in 1984.

Survivors include: two daughters, Alice Graham, Jefferson City, and Eleanor Spencer, New Bloomfield; one son, Leroy E. Meisel, Jefferson City; five brothers, Frank Wieberg, Argyle, Robert Wieberg, St. Ann, Cornelius Wieberg, Groom, Texas, Alfred Wieberg, Westphalia, and Marcellus Wieberg, Jefferson City; two sisters, Christine Groner, St. Elizabeth, and Marie Cox, Newton, Iowa; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. One grandchild preceded her in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. The Rev. Don Antweiler will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:30-8:45 p.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Knights of Columbus Hall, with a senior citizens rosary at 4 p.m. and a wake service at 8:15 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Thomas the Apostle Church or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, Meta.
