Beardsley, E. H. Bowman, John Welch, and Harry B. Simmon.
As announced in The Argus last night, Mrs. Wilson was an old time resident of this city and her husband, Major Frazier Wilson, now deceased, was prominent here and in Scott county. Mrs. Wilson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William T. Norris, was born in Chautauqua, N. Y., April 1, 1824. When she was 13 years old her parents moved to Missouri and six years later they came to this city. In November 1844, Miss Norris became the wife of Major Wilson, the ceremony taking place in a house on Seventeenth street and First avenue which is still standing. The couple made their home in a house which afterwards was sold and removed to make way for the exchange of the Central Union Telephone company on Nineteenth street. This was in 1899. From that time on, Mrs. Wilson made her home with her two daughters and later with her grand-daughter Mrs. Dave Wagner, in Chicago. Major Wilson was the first territorial sheriff of Scott county and later served as county recorder. He served a term as circuit clerk in this county and at the time of the hanging of the murderers of Colonel Davenport, he had charge of the guards who kept back the crowd.
