Jerry Hawkins, 73 years of age of Challis, Idaho passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements under the direction and care of the Jones & Casey Funeral Home of Challis, Idaho. www.jonesandcaseyfh.com

Jerry D. Hawkins was born on April 15, 1942 in Sherman, Texas one of five children born to Robert Lee and Mary Evelyn (Brinlee) Hawkins. He grew up in Sherman.

He was united in marriage to Patricia McAdoo on September 13, 1987 in Bridgeport, California. They moved to Challis in 1993 and purchased the ranch on Morgan Creek road in 1995 where he enjoyed raising cattle and working with the Salmon River Coalition to preserve property owners rights and the conservation of our natural resources. He was active in the local Farm Bureau and the Custer County Soil Conservation Organization as well. Jerry had the fortune of making many wonderful friends over his lifetime. He felt truly blessed to have so many special people in his life.

Jerry is survived by his wife Pat Hawkins of Challis, Idaho; daughter Nicole Kaye of Crescent City, California; grandson Preston Nunez of Crescent City, California; three sisters: Joyce Besheare, Leona (Vernon) Phillips and Mary Graham all of Dennison, Texas; cousin Sue Conrad of Sherman, Texas and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Don Hawkins.
