Death of Mr. Nichols
Mr. James Nichols, an old and respected citizen of Alleghany county, passed away at his home near Mallow at noon Wednesday. He was a suffer of vertigo and about a week ago during one of his attacks fell down the railroad embankment a distance of about 18 feet sustaining a concussion of the brain from which he died a few days afterwards.
Mr. Nichols was born near Lexington and came to Mallow during the war between the states. He married Miss Susan Morrison and rhe following children survive to mourn his death.

Nichols, Princeton, W. Va.; M. C. Nichols, Meadow Creek, W. Va.; Two brothers of the deceased live in the West.
The funeral service was conducted at his late home by Rev. T. K. Young, and his remains were interred in Cedar Hill cemetery.
