Mrs. John Leiker, 59, of 1217 Washington street, died at the Holy Family hospital this noon after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held at the Pfeffer funeral home at 8:30 a.m. Monday and at 9 o’clock at St. Boniface church, the Rev. Alfred Pritzl officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. The body may be viewed at
the funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday.
She was born in 1887 in Kansas. Her maiden name was Appollonia Klaus and she was married 40 years ago. She and her husband have lived in Manitowoc the past 20 years.
She is survived by her husband, nine children, 13 grandchildren, four brothers and six sisters. Her daughters are Miss Mary Leiker who lives at home, Mrs. Lester Handl of Manitowoc and Mrs. Frances Weilert of Kansas.
Her sons are Ben of Manitowoc, Dale of Manitowoc, Harry of Two Rivers, John Jr. of Manitowoc, Nick of Milwaukee and Paschal at the St. Fedelias seminary in Victoria, Kan. Her brothers are Fred Klaus of New York, Dale
Klaus of the state of Washington, George Klaus and John Klaus of Kansas.
Her sisters are Mrs. Frank Eberle of Hammond, Ind.; Mrs. Margaret Eberle of Kansas, Mrs. Catherine Eberle of Kansas, Mrs. Anna Eberle of Kansas, Mrs. Katie Kafeline of Colorado and Mrs. Rose Korbe of Colorado.
She was a member of St. Ann’s society of the St. Boniface church. The members of this group will recite the rosary at the funeral home at 7 o’clock Sunday evening.
