Charles L. Archer, son of the late Ira C. Archer and Ottoleane Siler Archer, was born December 2, 1931 in McNairy County, Tennessee and departed this life April 19, 2015 at the age of 83 years. Charles married Mylene Christine Edwards November 14, 1949. She preceded him in death August 29, 2014.

Survivors include two daughters: Denise Gore and husband Rick of Kennett, Missouri and Annette Knox and husband Rick of Lakeland, Tennessee; Six grandchildren: Brooke Hodges and husband Matt of Kennett, Missouri; Blake Warne and husband Josh of Lakeland, Tennessee; Bryan Gore and wife Sami Jo of Arlington, Tennessee; Luke Archer Knox, Lacey Ledlow and husband Troy, and Lindsey White and husband Brandon all of Lakeland, Tennessee; and Eight great-grandchildren: Luke, Landynn and Lane Hodges of Kennett, Missouri; Emmy Brooke and Easton Warne of Lakeland, Tennessee; Paxton Gore of Arlington, Tennessee; Knox White and Harlow Ledlow of Lakeland, Tennessee; Five siblings: Dora Brady, Ophelia Pierce, Finis Archer, George Archer and Carrol Archer. Other relatives and many friends.

Six siblings preceded him in death: Mildred Archer, Doshie Archer, Amy Ruth Pierce, Raymond Archer, Mary Nell Kennedy and Jewel Pierce.

Charles was of Kennett, Missouri and was a member of the Slicer Street Church of Christ. He began work with the Missouri State Highway Department at the age of 18 as a laborer and retired after 45 years of service as an area Supervisor.
