She was born April 24, 1913, to Columbus Marion Benefiel and Ada Mae Gough Benefiel in Fayette, Alabama.
She was a lifelong resident of the Bartahatchie community. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church. She was a former employee of the Gulf Ordnance Plant and a retired seamstress from Glenn Manufacturing.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Bro. Glen Hughes officiating. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Frances Barnes and husband, Herman, of Bartahatchie; nieces and nephews; special friends, Ray and Ann Phipps, Vivian Cantrell and family, and Ellis and Ray Reeves.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifton Alvin Estis; two sisters, Inthia Humphreys and Annie Mae James; and three brothers, Cordie Benefiel, Elmer Benefiel and Francis Marion Benefiel.
Pallbearers will be Herman Barnes, Neal Humphreys and Ray Reeves. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Dwight McComb.
