Alfred Widmer, 69, a lifetime resident of the Inland Empire, died October 26, 1978 at a local hospital.

He was born July 25, 1909 to Daniel and Magdalina (Riley) Widmer in Warden, Washington and moved to Spokane in 1942. He was a truck driver for Garrett Freightlines for 27 years, retiring in 1971. He was a member of Teamsters Local 690, Eagles Lodge Aerie 2 and was a Golden Eagle life member.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include his wife, Carol; sons Larry of Oakland, CA and Jerry of Spokane; daughter Gloria (Blair) James of Sacramento, CA; stepson Ronald Roloff of Arlington, TX; stepdaughter, Sharon (David) McLellan of Tacoma; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sisters Ida Roloff and Emma Quast of Odessa; and Dorothy Finkbeiner of Spokane.

Funeral services at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home in Spokane with Pastor Jim Workman of the Methodist Church. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery.
