Son of William Jahu Chastine Kuykendall and Susana Caroline (Mathis) Kuykendall. Buried near parents.

Harvey had three sons, Harvey Kuykendall, Tom Kuykendall, and Ray Kuykendall. Harvey Kuykendall (the son) is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Columbia, Tn. Tom Kuykendall was Creamated, and Ray Kuykendall is buried at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia, TN. He was married to Alice Haynes.

Harvey D. Kuykendall died in the General hospital at Knoxville, Sunday, Dec. 2, 1923, following an operation for appendicitis. He was taken seriously ill the Monday before, and immediately taken to Knoxville and operated upon, but never rallied. His brother, Tom, was with him through the week.

Harvey was for several years a successful school teacher, and was teaching in Clairfield, Claiborne county at the time of his death.

Harvey D. was a son of Mrs. S. C. Kuykendall, who lives two miles West of Cookeville, his father being the late J. C. Kuykendall. He was about 26 years of age, and leaves a wife and three small children. He is also survived by his mother, three sisters, Mrs. L. E. Shipley of Monterey, Mrs. S. H. Wall and Mrs. Will Maynard of Cookeville, and five brothers, H. H. Kuykendall of Sunnyvale, CA, M. L. and R. K. of Dexter, NM, S. P. of Cookeville, Route 4 and Tom J., who resides with his mother. One brother, Isaac died about 20 years ago. Harvey was next to the youngest in the family of ten.

Funeral services were held at the home on Tuesday, Dec 4 at 12:30 and burial at Judd graveyard at 2:00 o'clock. Services conducted by Rev. Dow E. Ensor.
