Amelia Cherry Haines, 84, of Brunswick died Monday at the Brian Center Inn on St. Simons Island.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ricky Varnell officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in West View Cemetery in Milledgeville.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Williams, Johnny Williams, Clinton Williams, Charles Cherry, Jimmy Cherry, Dick Hagelstein and Joe Duket.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Together Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women Fellowship No. 3.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at 2706 4th Street.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Surviving are a sister, Catherine Williams of Tallahassee, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

A native of Wheeler County, Mrs. Haines had lived in Brunswick for the past 12 years. She was retired from the V.A. Medical Center in Dublin as a registered nurse. Mrs. Haines was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the First United Methodist Church of Brunswick, the Together Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women Fellowship No. 3.
