Cheryl J. "Cheri" Smahaj, 59, of Davenport, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 20, 2015 in The Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 2-6 pm Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, Cheri would have liked to "Pay It Forward."
Cheri was born August 2, 1955 in Davenport, a daughter of Roland and June (Zinger) Kirkpatrick. On January 16, 1993 she married Robert J. Smahaj in Davenport. She was employed by Genesis Health System for 30 years.
She was a cat lover.
Survivors include her husband, Bob; children: Mirranda (Steve) Hernandez; Tommy (Dana) Hammill and Amy Smahaj; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sisters: Kay (David) Bartosch; Denise (Tighe) Hollowell and Cindy (Jim) Curta; brother, Darryl Kirkpatrick; mother-in-law, Catherine Smahaj; sister-in-law, Sandy (Rich) Furlow and brothers-in-law, Joe (Sherry) Smahaj and John (Mary)Smahaj.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
