Son of Heber John Webb and Grace Carol Call

Husband of Karma Freer

J. Wayne Webb
1928 ~ 2015
Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, John Wayne Webb, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015 at his home in Taylorsville, Utah, surrounded by his family.
Wayne was born in Ogden, Utah, Sept 4, 1928 to Heber John and Grace Carol Call Webb. He was raised primarily in Lehi, UT, graduating from Lehi High School in 1946. Served in the US Navy during wartime from July 1946 to July 1948. Attended Weber College, majoring in music, and Brigham Young University, graduating in Accounting. He subsequently earned his CPA certification, which he kept current and active until his time of death. Married Karma Freer June 9, 1952 in the Logan LDS Temple. They raised their 6 children in Taylorsville, Utah. Grandfather to 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as a missionary in the Western States Mission. Served as bishop, counselor in the stake presidency, and many years as stake financial clerk. His firm faith in his beliefs was both his life's compass and his anchor.
Wayne's mind was sharp and his memory keen all his life despite suffering a debilitating stroke at the age of 49, after which he fought his way back to recovery. Always determined to overcome any obstacles and setbacks life presented him, he forged ahead in all he pursued and was successful in his many tasks and responsibilities. He could be depended upon 100 percent of the time. He was unfailingly loyal to those he served and loved, especially to his family. He was a devout BYU football and basketball fan.
Wayne is survived by his dear wife, Karma, whom he has lovingly served and supported these past few years in her waning health. Also survived by his 6 children: Tonia (Kim) Sorensen, West Valley City, UT; Gail (Arden) Hess, West Valley City, UT; Shelley (Tim) Belnap, San Diego, CA; Gary (Sandy) Webb, South Jordan, UT; Julie (Todd) Muir, South Jordan, UT; and Kirk (Kalleen) Webb, West Jordan, UT; as well as his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also survived by his 2 brothers Brian (Ila) Webb, Centerville, UT; and Errol (Janet) Webb, Highland, UT; and many close relatives on his wife's side.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 18, 2015, 12:00 noon at the Taylorsville LDS Stake Center, 4845 S. Woodhaven Dr. (1365 West). Viewings will be held Friday, April 17, 2015, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Saturday at the church, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment at Lehi City Cemetery, 1100 North 400 East.
