DEATH OF AGED OWEN HALL

RETIRED FROM BOATING ON THE LEHIGH CANAL IN 1855

Owen Hall, a lifetime resident of Lehigh Township, Northampton County, died at his home at Treichlers, where he was born in 1820, from the effects of a stroke of apoplexy sustained last Thursday. He was for many years a boatman on the Lehigh Canal, retiring in 1855. Sixty-two years ago he was married to Fayette Redline. She died in 1865. For 26 years he lived with his son David. He is survived by the following children: David of Treichlers, Owen of Easton, Thomas of Catasauqua, and Mrs. Frank Lambert of Fullerton; also by 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will take place Thursday morning. Short services will be held at his late home at Treichlers. Regular services and burial at St. Paul's Church, Indianland. Rev. J. J. Reitz will officiate.

Fayette Redline, born in 1823, was the wife of Owen Hall. Fayette died in 1865 and does not have a grave marker.
