Audrey Mae (Powell) Lambert Eskew

SISSONVILLE – Audrey Mae (Powell) Lambert Eskew, 85, passed away into the arms of Jesus December 7, 2010 after a 6 ½ year battle with multiple myeloma cancer at her home with her daughter and son-in-law in Kingwood, TX.

She worked as an operator for AT&T in Parkersburg for 13 years prior to joining Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation in Ravenswood where she worked for 25 years as a switchboard operator. She was a member of the Pioneers Club and the Alddersgate United Methodist Church, Sissonville.

Audrey was born February 2, 1925 in the Drift Run community, daughter of the late Anna Audra (Angus) Powell McCauley and William Charles Powell. Her father died when she was an infant and her stepfather, William Alexander McCauley raised her as his own from the time she was three years old. In addition to her parents and stepfather, her husband, Raymond Kenneth “Jim” Eskew of Sissonville; sister Wynona Regina “Nonie” Currey of Sissonville and numerous aunts and uncles, also preceded her in death.

Surviving is her daughter, Debra Ann (Lambert) Amerson Lapham, and her son-in-law, Robert Law Lapham, of Kingwood, TX; granddaughter Leanna Paige Amerson, and her children; Mom's great grandsons Tracy Tremane Hayes Smith (7) and Braxton Roman Golden (2), all of LaMarque, TX; grandson Douglas Hayes Amerson and his wife, Denise Lea (Barnes) Amerson; their son, Mom's great-grandson, James Neil Amerson (4 wks.), all of Boling, TX; two step-grandsons (1) Earl Nathan Law Lapham, and his wife, Angela Dawn (Timmer) Lapham; their two children, Mom's great-grandchildren: Reece Law Lapham (3) and Mikayla Joy Lapham (21 months) , all of Hudsonville, MI; (2) Timothy Law Lapham, and his wife, Samantha Lee (Koning) Lapham, their daughter, Mom's great-granddaughter, Elise Lynn Lapham (7 wks.), all of Grandville, MI; by her sister, Nada L. (McCauley) Kittle, and brother-in-law, Rev. James B. Kittle of Pt. Pleasant, WV;Two nephews Jeffrey James Kittle of Pt. Pleasant, and his fiancee, Cindy Tackett of Gallipolis, OH; great-niece Christin Kittle of Pt. Pleasant; Lyndon Paul "Buddy" Kittle of The Plains, OH; two great-nephews T J Kittle and Trevor Kittle of The Plains, OH; two great-nieces; Tricia Kittle Whittington and her son, great great-nephew Andrew Whittington (2) of Pt. Pleasant; and Tiffany Kittle of The Plains, OH; by her brother-in-law, William L. Currey, (formerly Sissonville); one nephew William L. Currey III, his wife, Lisa M. Currey; two great-nieces Sarah Elizabeth Currey and Hannah Rose Currey, all of Wilmore, KY; by her Aunt Lucille Maddox (94) of Sandyville.

Funeral services are set for Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Sissonville, with Reverends Brad and Stephanie Bennett officiating, with prayer by Reverend James B. Kittle. Interment will follow in the Drift Run Cemetery, Sandyville.

Friends may call Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley and one hour prior to the service at the church.
