CUMBERLAND- Betty M. Bosley, 85, of Cumberland, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born on August 31, 1929, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Bessie (Twigg) Brown.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Viola Boggs.
Betty was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church where she was very active in the choir and with the Methodist Women.
She was a 1947 graduate of Fort Hill High School, where she was a Majorette that was a member for six years. Betty also helped with her class reunions, and meals on wheels for 40 years. She was an aspiring artist and bowled for many years on a league.
Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Surviving are her husband, Robert R. Bosley; her children, Carol Bosley, Debra Janicki and husband Edward, Bonnie Vipond and husband Dennis, and Robert R. Bosley II; grandchildren, Jennifer Merrill, Joshua Boyd, Jeremy Boyd and wife Dani, Trisha Torres and husband Kevin, Heather Reese and husband Brooks, Ernest Vipond, Timothy Owens and wife Erica, Michael Owens, Bobbi Miller and husband Tucker, Mercedes Bosley, and Steven Smith and wife Rachel; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her brother Jackie Brown.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A. 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 6 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Richard Jewell officiating. Interment will be in the Maryland State Veteran's Cemetery, Rocky Gap.
