A.T. (Tom) Baker, a longtime Greenville resident, died at 7 p.m. Monday in the V.A. Hospital in McKinney. He had been ill for three months.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Coker-Mathews-Peters funeral home chapel. The Rev. C.B. Fielder will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Park cemetery.

Mr. Baker was born Nov. 10, 1890, in Tylsford, Tenn., the son of Hiram and Sarah Boyen Baker. He was married to Effie Duke, June 22, 1921 in Greenville.

A retired café owner, he was a veteran of World War I and a member of Wesley Methodist church. He resided at 3405 Gee street at the time of his death.

Mr. Baker came to Texas as a small child with his parents and had lived near Greenville most of his life.

Pallbearers are Bob Walker, Mickey Walker, C.S. McGinnis, Guy Barkley, W.H. Moseley, and Hub Huffaker.

Survivors are his wife, one son, Thomas Baker, U.S. Air Force, Altus, Okla.; six grandchildren, Carol Lou, Jack Thomas, Larry Allen, David Keith, Richard Wayne, and Michael Byron Baker; three sisters, Mrs. Homer Glasson, Commerce, Mrs. Bill Gibbs, Fort Worth, Mrs. S.S. Jenkins, Hutchins and three brothers, Dr. Harrison Baker, Dallas, P.T. Baker, Celeste, and Frank Baker, Garland.

Coker-Mathews-Peters funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
