Russell O'Dell sang a solo, "In the Garden," and a quartet, composed of Bill French, Jerry Garrison, Shirley Lopeman and Sandra Holder, sang a number, "Abide With Me.
Interment was in Lebanon cemetery, where a brief service was conducted by Rev. Allison. The Palmer Funeral Home was in
charge and the pall bearers were Ronny Walstrom, Dick Baysinger, Bobbie Beck, Bob Carlson, Kenneth Haisty, Larry
Woolridge, Arthur Buttram, Stanley Coryell, Richard Duell.
Johnny Melvin Earp was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Earp and was born in Lebanon, April 5,1941. When he was two years old, his father entered military service and Mrs. Earp and her sons, Wyatt and Johnny, went to Wichita, Kansas to make their home.
After the close of the war, the Earp family returned to Laclede county and located in the Dove vicinity.
Johnny attended Merchant school for eight years and during that time he was active in Sunday School and social life of the community. He was elected the first president of the Dove 4-H club.
Died at: Home, accidental GSW to head
