Richard Steven (Steve) (Scout) Yopp, 60, of Troutville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 5, 2013. He was a Vietnam Veteran where he served in the U. S. Marine Corp and later retired from the U. S. Army with the rank of Staff Sergeant. After his retirement from the Army, he worked as a Truck Driver. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Garnett Yopp; his brother, Harold Yopp; and his beloved uncle, Kenneth Collins. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Debra Yopp; daughters, Stephanie Hickey, Malia Huffman and husband, Chip; son, Steven Paul Yopp and wife, Trista; one granddaughter, Gracie Huffman and one soon to arrive grandson, Paul Xander Yopp; three brothers and four sisters, Walter Yopp, Jr., Martha Cole, Darden Yopp, Douglas Yopp, Carol Hodges, Phyllis Hodges, Donna McDaniel; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, August 9, 2013 at Oakey’s East Chapel with Pastor Jake Huffman officiating. Interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by the U. S. Army. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 to 7PM at the funeral home.
