Jack Burns Adwell, 89, of Otterbein, passed away, April 13, 2015, at 3 AM, at the Indiana Veteran's Home.

He was born, December 8, 1925, with twin brother, Joe, to the late Elmer "Fritz" & Mary Lucille (Burns) Adwell. He had lived in Otterbein his entire life & graduated from Otterbein High School in 1943. He was a World War II Veteran, serving with the United States Marine Corp from 1943-1946. He married, Bernadine (Gick) Adwell, June 7, 1958, in Oxford, IN; she died December 2, 2010. Jack was in the meat cutting business since 1948. He was the meat manager at Smitty's Foodliner, for 31 years & then worked 12 years for Steve & Barb Beutler, at Beutler Meat Processing, Lafayette. He enjoyed all sports, except soccer & hockey. He was a New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, Purdue & Jeff Gordon fan. He as a member of St. Charles Catholic Church & Lifetime Member & Past Commander of the Otterbein American Legion Martin Kennedy Post #125.

He is survived by his Daughter, Cathy, Twin Sons, Brett & Brian & Son, Ron, eight Grandchildren & eight Great-Grandchildren. He proceeded in death by a Sister, Lois, Brothers Joe & Carl & Son, Danny.

Visitation will be, Thursday, April 16, 2015, from 5-8 PM, with Rosary at 5PM, at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Otterbein. Funeral Mass will be, Friday, April 17, 2015, at St. Charles Catholic Church, Otterbein, with Father Robert Klemme officiating. Entombment to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, with Military honors by, Otterbein American Legion Martin Kennedy Post #125.
