Clydas Janell Davis Koontz Columbia, MO., formally from King City, MO was born on the farm near Brooklyn , Harrison County, MO, to Charles Clyde Davis and Etta Edwards Davis Willis on Sept. 9, 1944. She married Randall L Koontz on Feb. 4, 1966. Janell as she was known by, was a homemaker. Janell as a child lived on a farm near Brooklyn, Mo. she attended school at Ridgeway then later Bethany. She then lived with her mother in Bethany, Mo. She graduated from high school in 1962 from North Harrison High School in Eagleville. She stayed at her grandmother Nellie Davis and went to school starting in January in Eagleville. After her marriage she lived in Bethany, Kansas City, King City, and Columbia. She is survived by her husband Randal Koontz and 4 children, Sheryl Lewis, Kelven, Dan, Nick, a step son Terry, a half brother Jim Gates, and 14 grandchildren and one great grandson. Janell died Sept. 15, 2003 at Barns-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis MO hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer. Her parents,and a half brother Billy Gates, Her brother PFC Charles Cecil Davis who died in Vietnam preceded her in death.
