Parents: Norman Thompson & Harriet Morrison.
Norman (1814-1893); Harriet (1814-1899).

Norman m. Harriet Morrison 14 August 1836, Ashtabula Co., Ohio.

Wilbur F. Thompson served as a Pvt in Co. D, 19 Ohio Infantry from 10 April 1861 to July 10, 1861 during the Civil War.

He re-enlisted as a Sgt in Co. G, 105 Ohio Infantry from 23 July 1862 to 20 June 1865.

The above data came from the 1890 census of Civil War Union survivors in North Powder & Antelope Precs, Union Co., Oregon. Wilbur resided in Union Twp, Union Co., OR.

Sadly, Wilbur ended his days at the Oregon State Hospital in Salem, Oregon. The institution's death records only begin in 1914, so there is no record as to the disposition of his remains.

In honor of his service to the United States during the Civil War, this memorial was created in the cemetery where his wife & children are. It is unfortunate that a burial record cannot be located because this man is entitled to a free headstone for his military service.
