Son of Jacob Bottom b. 1779 Henrico Co., VA d. 01 Oct 1841 in Mercer Co., KY, and Mary Bridges b. 1790/93 d. 10 Apr 1866; he had the following siblings: Mariah E. who married Samuel Bottom; Richard; Nancy Ann who married an Isham; Harriet who married Harrison Thompson, and Davis Bottom who married Catherine Anderson.

He married in 1840, Margaret "Mary" Delilah Hart; they had 2 children: Samuel Davis and Rowan Bridges who married Nancy Board. Henry lived in the "Bottom House: whith his family and his uncle William S. bottom who died after the Battle of Perryville.

Henry's farm in 1850 had 450 improved acres with 310 unimproved acres for a total of 760 acres. His farm was part of the Battle of Perryville, one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War.

Henry was known as "Squire;" he was of the Baptist faith (his grandfather was a preacher). Occupations: Farmer, Cabinet Maker, and Justice of the Peace.
