March 7, 1931 - July 21, 2005
Harry Robert Harp of Bend died Thursday. He was 74.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Cascade Praise Christian Center in Bend.
Mr. Harp was born March 7, 1931, in Riverside, Calif., to Lenden and Bertha Harp. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, specializing in radar installation. He earned a bachelor's degree in forestry at Humboldt State University. He married Fay Wilkinson on July 16, 1956, in La Mesa, Calif.
Mr. Harp worked as a forest ranger for the California State Division of Forestry. He retired in 1981 and moved to Bend in 1994. He was affiliated with the Cascade Praise Christian Center. He enjoyed woodworking, writing and painting.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James Robert of Las Cruces, N.M.; a daughter, Melissa Vandenbrocke of Bend; two brothers, Buddy and Kenneth, both of California; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and a sister.
