Roy, 89 a former resident of Evans Mills died Thursday night in the Masonic Home Hospital, Utica, where he had been a patient for four years. Death was due to the infirmities of old age.
Mr Washburn is survived by a daughter, Mrs Stephen C Bolton, Watertown; a son Harold Washburn, Williamsville, six grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
He was born near Gouverneur, August 21, 1879 the son of Alvin and Jennie Washburn. He became a cheesemaker and practiced this profession in various parts of the North country. For many years, he worked for Baumert Cheese Co in Evans Mills. He was a life member and former Master Mason of Masonic Lodge 270 F & AM.
