Arthur B. Newlen, 56, of County Route 38 was pronounced dead at Oswego Hospital Thursday after a brief illness.
A native of Wellsville, Ohio, Mr. Newlen also lived in Mattydale before moving to Hastings 18 years ago. He was an electronics technician with General Electric Co.
Mr. Newlen was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Brewerton, and Local 320, International Union of Electricians. He was an Air Force veteran.
Surviving are his wife, the former Betty Dollinger; a son, John of Mattydale; three daughters, Tammy, Becky and Kerry Newlen, all of Hastings; two brothers, Ira of Sorrento, Fla., and Perry of Fresno, Calif.; two sisters, Ruby Johnson of Westerville, Ohio, and Mary Wheatley of Rogers, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pleasant Lawn Cemetery, Parish.
