Grace E. Costa-Handy of Middleboro, died peacefully on March 5, 2013 in the Island Terrace Nursing Home. She was 98.

Born and raised in Middleboro, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Netto) Costa. Grace and her late husband, Dick, owned and operated a local and popular pizza parlor. Upon closure, Grace became a supervisor for Frank Noone Shoe Co. of Taunton. She was the wife of the late Elmer Gardner "Dick" Handy. Grace was a resident of Taunton prior to returning to Middleboro. An avid golfer, she played daily, weather permitting, until the age of 90. She attributed her longevity to regular exercise, playing bingo, being with people and never smoking cigarettes.

Devoted mother of Bruce F. Handy of Greenacres, Florida. Loving sister of Dorothy Francisco of Middleboro and the late Katherine Ray, Ann Smith, Mamie LaFazia, Lena Pittsley, Emily Bessette, Joseph Costa, Manuel Costa, John Costa, Carl Costa, Arthur Costa and Alfred Costa. Also survived by nieces, nephews and her special caregiver, Judy Gibbs of Lakeville.

Funeral services on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street (corner of School Street) Middleboro. Calling hours begin at 8:30 a.m. in the funeral home.

Burial will be at a later date in Saint Mary Cemetery.
