The Osceola Times, Fri. 1 Sept. 1922, pge 1
Andrew Wright Baber, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Baber, died at the Baptist hospital, Memphis, Wednesday afternoon after a lingering illness that baffles the skill of the best physicians obtainable.
Andrew was taken to the hospital several weeks ago but no hopes were held out for his recovery from the very beginning and his parents were prepared to expect the worst, it being simply a matter of time.
No young man in this community stood higher or had brighter prospects than did Andrew Baber. A good, clean, Christian boy, he did not fear death and was well prepared to meet his creator secure in the promise of everlasting life beyond the grave.
He was born December 28, 1903 and would have been 19 years old had he lived until next December. He is survived by his father, mother, and one sister.
The body was brought from Memphis and an ambulance, reaching the home of his parents about 4 o’clock yesterday (Thursday) morning.
Funeral services are to be held at the Methodist Church at 2:30 this afternoon and the pastor Rev. W. A. Lindsay will be assisted by Rev. E. K. Sewell, pastor of the church at Wilson. Interment will be in Ermen Mausoleum.
The stricken family have the sympathy of the entire community in their hour of sorrow.
