Sept. 25, 1938 - April 8, 2015 Ray L. Barthlett, a resident of Thonotosassa, Florida, passed away in Tampa, Florida on April 8, 2015.

He was born in Silas, AL on September 25, 1938 and moved with his family to Mobile County in January of 1939. Mr. Barthlett graduated from Baker High School in 1956. He attended Southern Miss College in Hattiesburg, MS. He was a boxer in his teens and twenties, winning matches in the middle weight division. He was a Veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Barthlett is predeceased by his father and mother, Robert Bruce and Addie Prine Barthlett; seven brothers, Robert Bruce, Jr., Edwin Henry, Ellis Lee, Maurice T., Richard Joseph, Elbert Gray, Raymond Vincent. And five of his brothers, Robert Bruce, Henry, Ellis, Richard and Raymond, served in World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, one daughter, one granddaughter, one grandson, one great-grandson, one sister, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Springhill Memorial Gardens, Chaplin Ron Piece will conduct the service.
