Shirley Louise Strayer, 84, of Longview passed away on August 29, 2004. She was born March 9, 1920 in North Dakota to Francis and Gurina (Storkson) Koenig. Shirley lived in the local area for 60 years. Shirley worked as an LPN in obstetrics at Cowlitz General Hospital. She also worked for 15 years at Frontier Nursing Home. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Kelso. Shirley loved to square dance and enjoyed volunteering as a foster grandparent for the Head Start Program. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Strayer, a sister Elaine Suppa, a brother Jack Koenig. She is survived by five daughters, two sons, seventeen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
