Arthur Emiel Haggen, 85, passed on Monday, April 6, 2015, in Pleasant Grove, Utah, with his family surrounding him. He was born on May 21, 1929, in Lovell, Wyoming, a son of Hans Opheim and Nellie Nicholene Torgerson Haggen.
Arthur served in the US Air Force during World War II. He married Loraine Fillerup on January 8, 1953, in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple. She preceded him in death on August 1979. He married Shelia Griffiths on April 25, 1980, in Heber City, Utah, and they were later sealed in the Logan Utah Temple.
He was a member of the Pleasant Grove 9th Ward, and served as an ordinance worker in the Provo Utah Temple and Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple. Arthur was active in the Lions Club for over 40 years. He worked and retired from the US Dept. of Agriculture. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, music, especially the accordion, organ and piano.
Surviving is his wife, Sheila; children: Bryant (Shelly) Haggen, Tanjalyn (Chris) Hortin, Nissa (Eugene) Moore, Sarah Haggen; stepchildren: Diane (John) Wilcox, David (Cha Cha) Brickey, Douglas (Chris) Brickey, Dale (Nadine) Brickey, Dean Brickey, Dorothy Wilcox; 28 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two brothers and one sister. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Loraine; his son, Arthur Haggen Jr.; and stepson, Daniel Brickey.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham City Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Box Elder Combined Veterans. Funeral services by Gillies Funeral Chapel, Brigham City, Utah.
