Services on Friday Under Lodge Auspices For Retired Lumber Employee
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 o'clock at Memory Chapel under the auspices of El Dorado Lodge No. 26, F. & A. M., for Absolom Wellington Maclin, 7?. Cremation will follow at Sacramento.
Mr. Maclin, for many years employed in lumbering in this county, died early Wednesday at his residence on Canal Street. He had not been well for about five years past and had been treating for a heart condition.
Wednesday morning when he failed to appear as usual, a checkup revealed he had collapsed while dressing.
Native of Ashland County, Arkansas, born August 31, 1867, Mr. Maclin came to California in 1892 and was employed by the old El Dorado Lumber Company for a number of years as a bridge builder. He spent a period of about ten years in Alaska and returned to El Dorado County about twenty-five years ago, being employed for a number of years with the California Door Company.
Later he was employed by the county in road work until failing health compelled his retirement about five years
ago.
Mr. Maclin is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alvina C. Maclin, and a daughter, Nevera Maclin, both of this city, and by two sons, George of Knight's Landing, and Don Maclin, who is in the Army.
