The following Obituary appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles, CA in 1969:

"Services for Writer James F. O'Hanlon Set.
Rosary for screen and television writer James Francis O'Hanlon, 58, who died Sunday at Glendale Memorial Hospital after a brief illness, will be recited Wednesday at 8 p.m. from St. Bede's Catholic Church in La Canada.
Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Bede's with interment at San Fernando Mission Cemetery.
Mr. O'Hanlon was born in Coney Island, NY, and attended the La Salle Academy. He came to Los Angeles in 1931 and appeared in several motion pictures as a dancer, then entered the screenwriting field in 1940.
His screen credits include "The Miracle of Fatima", "Calamity Jane", "Destination Moon", "Sahara", "Three Wise Fools", "Two Sisters from Boston" and "The Harvey Girls".
Mr. O'Hanlon also helped write the plot scripts for the Maverick, 77 Sunset Strip and Mr. Roberts television series.
Surviving are his wife Mary O'Hanlon; two daughters, Miss Maureen O'Hanlon and Mrs. Thomas Greening; three sons, Timothy, Terrence and James, Jr.; a brother George O'Hanlon, and six grandchildren."
