Visitation and services will be at Groveton Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Poage officiating and Bro. Lester McAdams assisting. Burial will follow at Holley Cemetery.
Jimmy was born January 10, 1943 in Groveton, Texas. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed being around people and getting to visit. He loved to work and he especially loved driving his big truck. Jimmy enjoyed his time working in law enforcement and being able to help serve his hometown community. In his younger years, he enjoyed going out to hunt hogs with his many friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Sidney Smith; mother, Margie Reed and son, Shannon “Bear” Smith.
His survivors include his wife, Betty Smith, of Lufkin; step-daughter, Kathy Norsworthy and husband Wayne; step-son, Tommy Miller and wife Jan; step-son, Steve Miller; step-daughter, Angela Flowers and husband Richard; daughter-in-law Carlene Smith; nine grandchildren; sister, Jean Carolyn Caveness; numerous other relatives and friends, also survive.
