Alan Jonathan Boatner, age 59, of Grant, AL, died at his home March 26, 2015 of a heart attack. Born in LaGrange, he graduated from Guntersville High School (AL) in 1973 and joined the Coast Guard. He retired after 20 years of distinguished service.
Survivors include one brother Mark Boatner, sisters Cynthia Copeland (Phil) and Emiley Boatner, 2 nephews and 2 nieces. Graveside service for family will be April 18, 10 a.m. at Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange.
