Betty Louise (Falle) Wickam, of Loveland, Colorado passed from this life December 7, 2012. Betty was born June 24, 1927 in Troy New York, to Louise May (Cook) Falle and Albert Henry Falle. She moved to Tulsa, OK at age 3, traveling by train with her parents, older sister Ida May and older brother Albert Jr., leaving behind half brother William C. Falle and half sister Margerite Falle. Betty was always proud to be an "Oakie, embracing her Tulsa roots. But when she took a two week trip to Greeley to visit her sister her life was changed. She got a job at radio station, KYOU and soon met the love of her life, Vivan Morse Wickam. He was attending Colorado State Teacher's College and according to her, the most handsome man in the annual. They were married at First Presbyterian Church on August 11, 1950, a marriage that would last 54 years. In 1955, Vivan took a teaching position in Loveland and they settled into the community which Betty would call home for the rest of her life. As her two children grew up, she served as a leader in both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She sang in the choir at Loveland First Methodist Church, volunteered at the Loveland library. Betty, and Vivan were proud of their grandchildren and were faithful fans of their events. Betty's other passion was genealogy. What started out with a trip in 1964 to New York to discover her "long lost family," became a lifelong pursuit of the family's ancestors. She started her own business "Research Help is Here." She spent many hours at local genealogical libraries researching and was a member of the Larimer County Genealogical Society. She was proud of being a Falle and that her ancestors were from the Isle of Jersey. Betty and Vivan traveled to both England and the Isle of Jersey many times, and made lifelong friends on their travels. Always an excellent detective and a stickler for details, she left an accurate and invaluable record of the family's heritage. She is survived by a son, four grandsons, a granddaughter, four great grandchildren, a nephew, and niece. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vivan M. Wickam, daughter, Valorie Jo Wickam Ronald, parents; Louise M. Cook and Thomas A. Falle, brother; Thomas A. Falle Jr., and sister Ida M.Tegman Shiba. Donations can be made in her remembrance to the Friends of the Library in Loveland. In remembrance of Betty a party and celebration of her life, will be planned. This will be held in Loveland on February 23 location to be announced in the local paper.--Loveland Reporter-Herald, Dec. 26, 2012
