Age 89, of McMurray, on Sunday, February 6, 2011, at Canonsburg Hospital with family by his side. He was born December 10, 1921 in Pittsburgh to parents Charles H. and Barbara Anderson, Sr., and was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Emma Marion, and sister Virginia Cobb of Deland, FL. He is survived by a brother Donald Anderson of Atlanta, GA; loving children Karen M. (Edward) Zeiler of Canonsburg, Charles H. Anderson III of Finleyville, Barbara E. (Thomas) McDowell of Butler and Richard E. (Susan) Anderson of Carnegie; cherished grandchildren Thomas, Amy, Kelly and Edward; great-grandchildren Trevor, Evan, Luke, Emma and Ainsley. He graduated from Carnegie Tech in 1943 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and served in the Army as an Engineering Aide assisting in translating German technical data. After leaving the Army in 1946 he was employed over the next 40 years as a mechanical engineer in design and operation of steel mill equipment with several different companies. Some of these projects included travel to Europe, Middle and Far East and South American countries with extended stays in the Philippines and Venezuela. In later years he worked independently as a consulting engineer. His hobbies included gardening and landscaping with his wife, remodeling his home, fishing, photography and spending time with his favorite dog Rambo. During an excursion to the Amazon Jungle he acted as photographer for the group and later compiled a travel log enjoyed by all who read it. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS.
