Stella E. (Umbaugh) Pinkerton Crossman, 74, of Kittanning RD 3 died at 2:40 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 1984, in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. Born Jan. 24, 1909, in Rose Valley, she was the daughter of William and Elrena (Ellwood) Umbaugh. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Pinkerton in 1940, and by her second husband, Arrillis Crossman, in 1962. She is survived by six sons, James Pinkerton of East Brady, Nolan F. Pinkerton and David E. Pinkerton, both of Kittanning, Robert Pinkerton of Redwood City, Calif., Donald L. Pinkerton of Ford City RD 1 and Paul Murray of Templeton; three daughters, Mary J. Harkleroad of Ford City RD 2, Ann F. Metzler of Tarentum and Beverly Walker of Kittanning; two brothers, Theodore Umbaugh of Tunnelton and Samuel Umbaugh of Apollo; two sisters, Mrs. Clark (Sarah) Whitaker of Rural Valley and Mrs. Darl (Edith) Robertson of Ford City; 36 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, William; six brothers and one sister. CROSSMAN - Friends of Stella E. (Umbaugh) Pinkerton Crossman, 74, of Kittanning RD 3, who died Friday, Jan. 13, 1984, will be received at the Wendell A. Welch Funeral Home, Ford City, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will follow in the Rural Valley Cemetery. Arrangements are by Welch.
