Services for Raymond Earl Solly, 76, of Lufkin, will be held at the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan.

Mr. Solly was born July 11, 1938, and died April 6, 2015, in a local hospice facility.

Services for Raymond Earl Solly, 76, of Lufkin, will be held in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Coleman officiating. Eulogy will be offered by Lynn Stanford. Interment will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan.

Raymond was born July 11, 1938 in Hemphill, Texas, the son of the late Linnie (Herrin) and Plumer Solly. He passed away Monday, April 6, 2015 in a local hospice facility.

Raymond was a loving father, grandfather, and brother and was devoted to all he loved! He was a nature lover and enjoyed working in his garden. He was a sports fanatic and a devoted Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Braves, and Texas Longhorns fan. He was raised in the Assembly of God Faith. Raymond served his country in the United States Army and United States Navy from 1956 to 1962.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Vicki Solly, Jason and Paula Solly; Ramey and Krissa Solly, Lynn and Diana Stanford, and Dwayne and Stephanie Stanford; grandchildren, Anna, Blayne, and Luke, Alana, Keith, Chrisie, Jacob, Daniel, and Michael, Morgan and Caleb; great-grandchildren, William, Brook, Skyler, Avery, Ryder, Laney and Kaidence; brother and sister-in-law, Drayton and Reva Solly; nieces and nephews, Cara, Kendra, Brianne, Savanna, Tiffany, Ashton, Claire, Bud, Kim, Brenton, Jason, Shaylon, Kendra, James, Cole, William, Sylvia, and Briley.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his brothers, Dwaine Solly and Weldon Solly; sister, Judy Carolyn Solly; son, Keith Solly; and loving best friend, Sue Stanford.
