Services for Violet Cohoon, 77, Morningside of Hopkinsville, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lamb Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Dugas officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 tonight at the funeral home. She died at 3:38 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2005, at Morningside of natural causes. A native of Christian County, she was born June 4, 1927, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth Gilkey Campbell. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Elmo Homemakers Club. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Fairview. Her husband, James ""Pink"" Cohoon, died in 2001. Survivors include three sons, J. Larry Cohoon, Jonestown, Texas, Cloyd Michael and Randall Dale Cohoon, both of Hopkinsville; a sister, Mrs. James (Margaret) Heltsley, Christian County, 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Pennyroyal Hospice.
