Alvin Ernest Adams, age 85, of Lodi, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on November 16, 2010, at Methodist Hospital in Sacramento. He was. born in Rio Vista, California to Ernest Alvin and Jessie (Bean) Adams on May 4, 1925. Alvin served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, during which he was injured in the Philippines. Despite his service connected disability, he worked as a tool and die maker for Valley Tow Rite for 28 years.
Alvin was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a taxidermist for over 50 years. He also served as past president of the Delta Bowhunter’s Association and the Stockton Orchid Society and was a member of the National Rifle Association, Ducks Unlimited, and VFW #9009 of Lockeford. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be dearly missed.
Mr. Adams is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Goldie Adams, daughters: Sandra Adams Pemberton (Mike) and Barbara Adams Jones (Gary); grandsons: Shawn Hale and Trent Collins (Stephanie); great grandchildren: Mckenzi, Ryan, and Brandon; sister: Shirley Rodriguez and her children Dennis Baumbach and Marjorie Bergante; and many other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Victoria Adams, and 6 sisters.
